I was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, ALL, on March 25, 2012 at the age of 11. On Sept. 9th, 2014 after being in remission for over 2 1/2 years, my Leukemia returned. In November of 2014 I received a Haploidentical Hematopoietic Stem Cell plus Natural Killer Cell Transplant with my mom as the donor. At 120 days (April 2015) post transplant I’m back in remission and cancer free. In February of 2015 I was diagnosed with a rare nerve disorder called Guillian Barre. I’m on my way to recovery but it will take months of intense rehabilitation and physical therapy.
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself. 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do".
~ Eleanor Roosevelt
I am determined to win this fight. I will stare fear in the face ... again!
